Since joining Trivium in its inaugural year in 2011, Laura has been a beacon of inspiration for both her students and colleagues, exemplifying the profound impact an educator can have on young minds.
Laura began her journey at Archway Trivium teaching first grade, where she was captivated by the school’s rich curriculum. The idea that students could learn the scientific names of bones at such a young age was not just remarkable—it was a testament to Trivium’s commitment to fostering a deep love of learning. This early exposure to complex concepts instills a sense of wonder and inquiry in students, setting the stage for a lifetime of exploration.
Central to Laura’s philosophy is the belief that education is not solely about academic achievement but also about nurturing strong, morally grounded individuals. While Laura and Lily do not work in the same classroom the ability to be teachers in the same workplace allows them to share insights and strategies, enhancing their teaching practices and enriching the learning experience for their students. The collaborative atmosphere between the two teachers ensures that every child’s needs are met, reinforcing the idea that education is a communal effort.
Laura embodies the values that shape students into great-hearted people: “Share the love,” “Be a good human,” and “Care about others.” These principles guide her interactions and resonate through her teaching. She believes that by instilling these values in her students, she is not just educating them but preparing them to be kind, compassionate members of society.
