AZMerit/AIMS Testing Information for 3rd-5th Grade Students

March 23, 2017 -

Dear Parents of 3rd-5th Grade Students,

Archway Trivium West will be administering the AZMerit state assessment between March 27th and April 25th.  Scholars in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades will be tested in Writing, English Language Arts, and Math.  Scholars in the 4th grade will also take the AIMS Science assessment.

For ATW’s AZMerit/AIMS testing schedule, please view here.  The assessments are not timed tests, but must be completed on the day they are started.  Since assessments will be taken online, the extended testing window ensures that we are able to spread out assessments so that regular instruction may continue.

On a testing day, please make sure your child has a healthy breakfast and gets plenty of rest so they come to school prepared and comfortable.  The night before their assessment, we recommend your child gets about 10 hours of sleep.  Please remind your child to take their time, relax, and to do their best work.  AzMerit testing should not be stressful to the student.  The assessments will help us know how much your child has learned over the course of the school year. Test results do not influence your child’s grades in any way.

If you have any questions, please contact our testing coordinator, Karen Irwin, at kirwin@archwaytrivium.org.
